Dr. Sao Tunyi is a public health personnel who is presently working as Epidemiologist, National Program for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS), Nagaland. After MBBS at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences(RIMS), Imphal, Manipur; he received Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi in 2010. He worked as a Junior Resident at Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi; Medical Officer at Pungro Community Health Centre, Kiphire district, Nagaland; Epidemiologist (IDSP); and Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant (NVBDCP) at Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima, Nagaland.
He has interest in public health research, Christian theology and social engagement, bonsai art, and analyzing contemporary culture besides his passion for the written word (writing). He worked as a columnist for Eastern Mirror, and wrote editorials for Morung Express, daily newspapers in Nagaland. He is author of ‘Cross-Section: Reflections on Christian Faith and Society‘, published by Heritage Publishing House in 2014. He is working on a second book which is planned to be published in the later part of 2018.
